Doesn’t time fly – it’s time again for our Annual General Meeting.  We traditionally only have the business of the AGM at this regular meeting but to make things a little more interesting for members this year we are going to have a mini exhibition with a large screen show of our old photographs.  This feature was very well received at the Annual exhibition and is helpful to members as the images are enlarged on the large screen to assist with the identification of people and places.  So if you enjoyed the large screen feature at the annual exhibition or you couldn’t get near to it because it was so busy why not come along.  We will also have available our catalogued volumes of photographs and of cause it’s all free to members.  Please be aware of the changed date of the AGM, the AGM is now on Thursday 20th March at the Salem School Room at 7:30pm.
Interestingly – 1 May – 31st May 2008 is National Local History Month to help focus on local history and local history groups.  This is a chance for you to help us.  You have already donated hundreds of old photographs of characters and places in and around the villages – if you have any photos in your own family’s or personal collections why not share them with us and other members.  We can arrange to scan copy and return any photographs to you should you wish to retain them or we will gratefully receive them to prevent the being destroyed for the want of a good home.  Please have a dig in your old albums and draws and help us to preserve the past for the future.
Please don’t forget that Annual Membership Fees are due for April 2008.  We will be accepting new and renewed memberships at the AGM on 20th March.  This year’s fees are to be the same as before – £4 Single Member & £6 Family Membership.  We will also be publishing the Annual diary of events for 2008/9 for member which will also be available at the AGM.

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS NOW DUE
Subscriptions for membership to the Society are now due and we are pleased to announce that they remain the same as the last four years – £4 for single membership and £6 for joint membership.
