Lists have always made fascinating reading – particular for family historians – and last Quarter’s list of Family Researchers certainly stirred up some interest. So following up on this theme we are including a list from the researches of local author Tony Hunt with Cheslyn Hay people involved in three gun crimes, including one murder, from the Victorian period.

John Farnell, Samuel Farnell, James Allsopp, Abraham Shorter, William Stokes, John Hubery, John Gregory, Fanny Ecclestone, George Ridgway, David James, Moses Lockett, Isaac Elwell, Alfred Lloyd, Edward Stallard, Arthur Cartwright and Cornelius Buckley were all involved in the criminal cases, as were the custodians of the law – Sgt Upton and Constables Lindop and Preston.

CHRISTINE ALLDRITT

We have had a request from Glenys Lomas (nee Hammond) in Cheshire to locate her old schoolfriend Christine Alldritt, so as to arrange a get together with a few others.
