This prize snippet was recorded by a Research Group from the Great Wyrley High School of thirty years ago, reviewing council meetings in the local newspapers of 1910. Apparently the councillors were concerned about a missing item and were informed that……
‘The coronation pole was being retained by a gentleman in the village. Someone suggested he might be setting up as a barber. The Clerk promised to make inquiries.’ 
Unfortunately there was no follow up report of the Clerk’s enquiries.
