Hello and welcome to the summer edition of our quarterly newsletter.  First of all apparently we had a little bit of a problem with our last edition, I’m sorry to say that our aging printer decided to mix up a number of copies by printing different pages on the back of some pages making the edition a little jumbled up – but I think you should have received all of the pages, just that they were out of order.  I’m very sorry and hope this did not spoil your enjoyment of the edition.
Annual membership is now due for renewal.  We were not able to publicise this in the last edition because if was proposed and agreed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April, that the membership structure should be changed to a single flat Family fee of £4 per house hold.  This means that we are offering even better value for your membership than previous years.  So if you have not already done so (and many people have already) please renew your membership to ensure you continue to receive the quarterly newsletter.
The next item is the programme of coffee morning and evening speaker’s topics and dates – again we were a little late putting the programme together and finalising it this year.  I have included the next 3 months topics and dates on the Events page – please put them in your dairy so you do not miss any of them.
Again this quarter we have all the regular features including an excellent article from Pat Everiss, which make fasinationg reading. We also have an update of our House History and Census mapping project which is being lead by Darren Bulter. Darren is looking for any copies of deeds to old houses in the village. News from the past is little light this quarter, I guess the village did not make many headlins in 1909 & 1959.
As you may know we have an extensive photograph and document archive.  If you have any suggestion or ideas of items or information you would like to see in future editions why not get in touch and give me a ring.
