RESPONSES One small error from last week. It was the vicar Tom Parker at the Youth Club and not ‘Trevor’ as stated. Also a bit more information on Cyril Pee‘s paper shop at 27 Station Street . It became Hughes‘ and then in 1946 Rogers‘ paper shop when Mr Rogers bought number 25 to make it one double frontaged shop in the fifties. And our researchers Vi. Jean and Andrew have had an input into Olwen’s Somerfield family with Bernard Jackson from Sacramento adding full details of Titus, Prudence, Henry, Lucy & Benjamin Somerfield going back to 1768.

The winners of the Cannock Rural District School Salvage Shield were Cheslyn Hay School , with full details including Margaret Woollett, aged 8.
9th March 1967 Redevelopment of the frontage of Low Street – the first of two phases for improving Cheslyn Hay – with full details.
9th March 1967 Story on Cheslyn Hay’s recently formed Salem Special Efforts Committee is going to make an all-out bid within the next twelve months to raise £1,000 so that the Sunday School rooms can be renovated.
