2nd April 1969  Building on the new Hawkins Sports and Social Club is now nearing completion.
2nd April 1969  The owners of the newly opened ladies fashion shop in Cheslyn Hay called the “The Bird Cage” have launched their shop with a ‘bang’.  Full story.Cannock Chase Courier 5th April 1919  During the week a ballot was taken for a War Memorial and discussions of what form the Memorial should take are now taking place.               On Wednesday evening Mr. W. C. Thackergave a performance at the Picture Palace for the benefit of Mr. J. Perry’s fund.

It was reported in the Staffordshire Advertiser that The War office had notified Mr and Mrs Noden, of Holly Bush, Saredon, that their son Lance Corporal Thomas Noden, a single man who was reported wounded and missing on March 26th the previous year must have died on that date or since.
