Grandfathers hand down some strange keep-sakes to their grandchildren, but newspapers are a strange type of family heirloom.
Three old newspapers have been passed down to Mr. I Dicks of 1, Wolverhampton Road, Cheslyn Hay, as heirlooms dating back to 1741 with details of historical events and why they were kept.

Miss. Yvonne Whitehouse of 19 Station Street is emigrating to Australia on Thursday to start a new life there.

Hawkins opened their cricket season with a 16 run victory over John Thompsons.  Full details given.

A Whist Drive, Dance and Social took place for the benefit of W. Garrett, of Station Street.
Last week a collection was organised by Messrs. J. Middleton and T. Bown for the benefit of Mr. Wm. Brough, The Lot, who has been very ill for some considerable time.
