Rogers Trips 2019  Although he wasn’t able to be there in person, a big thank you to Roger for organising yesterday’s excellent trip to Leicester. Also, to Sue and Dave for their hard work in keeping things running smoothly all day. We hope you had as good a time as we did, and we look forward to hearing your suggestions for our 2020 trips.

Harold Philip Kingston, of The Nook Farm, Cheslyn Hay, has recently obtained a degree in economics but has never been to a grammar school or university. Full story.

17th July 1969  A new primary school is being opened in September and Mr. D. Bickley has been appointed headmaster, but Mr Martin will continue as headmaster of the existing school.
17th July 1969  Mrs Gwenneth Blackley, of Cheslyn Hay, has been invited to an afternoon garden party at Buckingham Palace today.  Full story.

17th July 1969  Mr. Charles Barlow officially opened the new Hawkins Sports and Social Club, offering more facilities in Cheslyn Hay.
17th July 1969  Annual Sports Day at Cheslyn Hay Primary School naming all the prize winners.

12th July 1919  Walsall Observer  At  Meeting of the Cannock Rural Council a petition was signed requesting the council to consider the sanitary arrangements.

Jim Wise one of our long standing members who always attends our Tuesday and Thursday meetings celebrated his 80th birthday last week.
