Cannock Advertiser 4th February 1971  Story of a stewardship campaign is to be started by Cheslyn Hay Methodist Church to attract new members to church organisations.
4th February 1971  Details of the new vicar of Great Wyrley, the Rev. John Newcome Craig, being officially inducted to the parish.
Cannock Advertiser & Courier 1921  5th February 1921  At a meeting of the Cheslyn Hay Working Men’s Club it was decided to hold a social evening consisting of a Whist Drive and Dance.
5th February 1921  A meeting of the Senior Bowling Club held at the Red Lion Hotel considered the question of the appointment of a groundsman.  Full details.

5th February 1921  Full story of a very unhappy married life was unfolded at the Cannock Police Court, on Monday, when Henry Evans of Upper Landywood, was summoned for deserting his wife Lillian Annie Evans.
A Mystery Woman researched by Sue & Dave Washington
The story of an unknown woman buried at St Marks Church, Great Wyrley in 1878 was revealed from a newspaper report in the Walsall Observer and later the Birmingham Post which covered the Inquest in a strange and complicated case.  Continued next week.
